Well, I knew Tony Romo would have some "off" games. I did not, however, know that his first bad one would come against the Bills on Monday Night Football (although I did tend to think the Bills were a lock to at least give the Cowboys a decent run for their proverbial money). Anyway, please don't tell me in the comments how I'm a loser or idiot for changing my opinion on Romo. He just threw five (should have been six) picks and fumbled a ball in the middle of primetime. Everyone saw it. His fantasy owners are panicked. And why shouldn't they be? They're "stud" QB looks pretty mortal. Never hurts to ask what they want for him. Of course, I was more concerned with the performance of another MNF star last night. Straight Cash, Homey (Buy Low)
Marshawn Lynch, RB, BUF - Does anyone really feel like Lynch is making a huge impact on the fantasy landscape? Because he quietly is. He's on a bad team yet he's a top 15 fantasy running back. You might point out that he hasn't cracked 100 total yards yet in a game, but I would counter with the issue of his schedule. He has gone against the Broncos (32 - okay throw that one out), and the Jets (25 - crap). But he did score a touch against each one. And the other three games he's had this year? The Steelers (4), the Patriots (5) and the Cowboys (7). That's beasty, man. He's got his bye this week and he hasn't been a points monster, so he's gettable. Add in the fact that he'll be seeing the Dolphins twice (once in week 15), the Bengals, the Browns and the Jets again, in addition to the Giants (a decent matchup) in week 16 and this is a guy that you want to go out and get in a trade before he blows up. It doesn't hurt that Trent Edwards should mean better offense and at 100 touches through 20 games, Lynch isn't on pace to wear out by season's end.
Tony Romo, QB, DAL - Like I said, six turnovers. Six turnovers means he's cheaper to get than he was last week. I'm not saying you should sell the farm for him by any means, but Romo's not going to be that bad all season (nor will he be as good all year as he was early) and his leading the comeback against the Bills was impressive. Worth finding out if he's on the block. Lee Evans, WR, BUF - He's only had one good matchup. He took advantage of that for 72 yards. He is going to blow up. And you can basically get him for free. (Note that I will not stop advising to buy low on him until he finally blows roof).
Hittin the Hip (Sell High)
Kenton Keith, RB, IND - If you followed my advice and picked up Keith before the Colts game started on Sunday afternoon (please note you need to not be a Joseph Addai owner for this to work), you immediately send Addai's owner an email and ask him if he's interested in purchasing "the other half of the Colts' timeshare". Of course, that's probably not factually correct. Addai is still the guy when he gets healthy (see: Turner, Michael). But that doesn't mean Addai's owner isn't terrified. And if you need help at QB or WR, this is your prime chance to get a nice WR2 for free.
Devery Henderson, WR, NO - The New Orleans Utah-man finally did something worthwhile Sunday. He caught four balls for 101 yards and narrowly missed a 50 plus yard touchdown reception by stepping out at the five. But more importantly, he dropped about forty passes. Well, maybe not that many but he single (and not so sure) handedly cost the Saints the game by coughing up what could have been two touchdowns. I imagine Drew Brees is not to thrilled. A lot of fantasy owners will only see "4 catches, 101 yards" and think..."Hmmmm, maybe Hendu is about to break out...." You take advantage of that owner--if Henderson can't hold onto the ball it's hard to imagine Brees or Payton will continue to trust him.
Najeh Davenport, RB, PIT - "Woah, man. Looks like 'Naj' is getting all the TDs for the Steely McBeams." That could be the extent of your email to the Willie Parker owner. He has to be at least a little concerned with Davenport averaging seven and a half per carry and getting the goal line action in Pittsburgh. That should likely entice him to back up his first round pick. Parker isn't going to lose his job by any means, so it's prudent to take advantage while you can.
