I really do love baseball. And I really am sorry to (almost) see it go, depending on the outcome of this game. And I really will feel bad if the Rockies get swept and the Red Sox win another title. But you know what? I love football. And I want my Sunday night football back, even if it does mean more Keith Olbermann. The Colts and Pats continued to be undefeated and making statements today, and you can be fairly certain that you don't have a prayer of finding yourself away from being inundated about all of this over the next seven days. Tennessee Titans 13, Oakland Raiders 9
I try not to pat my back too much, but I couldn't have been more right about this game. Both Tennessee running backs got a touchdown, so they are wins, defense ruled the day, and Tennessee wideouts are worthless with Vince Young in there. Tennessee's defense is just studly by the way.
LenDale White - Love this guy. Yes, Oakland is easy, but he really gets no love.
Chris Henry - Has he leapfrogged Chris Brown yet?
LaMont Jordan - A tough matchup but he's cooled.
Vince Young - I know he "just wins", but that's relatively worthless in fantasy.New York Giants 13, Miami Dolphins 10Win for Eli Manning, who was not very effective through the air because Brandon Jacobs, also a win, carried the day. Derrick Ward was an early scratcher and I meant to pull him off so I'm just pulling him off the list. Jesse Chatman had 100 total yards so I can't take a win there.
Brandon Jacobs - Looking like he was supposed to.
Jesse Chatman - He's a starter. He's not horrible.
Football in London - It's so damn rainy there.Cleveland Browns 27, St. Louis Rams 20
I'm such a loser. I knew Steven Jackson wasn't going to be horrible and flopped it at the last second; although I was right about the carry total, he still backdoored the end zone. Braylon Edwards and Derek Anderson went muy largo and Jamal Lewis was held under 70 yards.
Steven Jackson - He would appear to be back.
Derek Anderson - I know it's the Rams, but this guy is trying to hang with Brady.
Marc Bulger - Assuming he's not out for an extended time, he was looking good.
Brian Leonard - He would appear to be out the door.
Jamal Lewis - Much like Shaun Alexander last week, this is not a great performance against the Rams.Detroit Lions 16, Chicago Bears 7
How awkward for me. Not as awkward as Brian Greise and his seven interceptions against the Lions in two games, though. Loss for him and Mushin Muhammad, but a win for Bernard Berrian and Bears DST. This game is insane because suddenly the Lions are a legitimate threat to win that division. It's a race between them and the Packers, just so we're clear.
Kevin Jones - Just like a few years ago, this guy might be helping teams win fantasy championships down the stretch.
Greg Olsen - Touchdown does that.
Cedric Benson - Really.
Brian Greise - I mean, ugh. Indianapolis Colts 31, Carolina Panthers 7
Well, I got my wish on Mister Mittens. Didn't pan out very well, but I don't think David Carr was really ready to rumble. Why would I waste a love on Anthony Gonzalez? I mean, really. Although in fairness he only had two less yards than Steve Smith. Oh yeah, and DeShaun Foster hates me. The Panthers looked great in the first quarter, but I don't know if they really ever had a chance - this Indy team is superb.
Joseph Addai - I would say he's still the number one. And possibly a good buy low. Last week.
Jeff King - A nice TE addition.
Steve Smith - A good buy low I would think. He misses Jake Delhomme, clearly.Pittsburgh 24, Cincinnati 13
The Bengals defense is non-existent and honestly, their offense has really looked off kilter lately. Carson Palmer is a winner! I'm so proud of that. And I should have left Chad Johnson in there too, dangit. Kenny Watson is a surprising loss though. Wins for Ben Roethlisberger and Hines Ward as well. And let's be honest - because of the Pats and Colts, people are really sleeping on this Steelers team.
Hines Ward - Also a nice buy low. Last week.
Kenny Watson - If Rudi Johnson is done, he might be the early waiver add of the year.
Chad Johnson - 51 yards? Really? Keyshawn in your head?
Carson Palmer - Just a disappointing season thus far.Buffalo Bills 13, New York Jets 3
Ugly game. And how did I pass on Lee Evans as a love? Oh yeah. It took a fourth quarter bomb from J.P. Losman to really get him going. I think with Losman's back against the wall, you could see a spike in value for Evans from here on out. Marshawn Lynch and Laveraneus Coles are wins and Thomas Jones and Jerricho Cotchery are losses.
Lee Evans - Week freaking eight. Better late than never I guess.
Kellen Clemens - Five of 12 for 67 yards and two picks is not a good way to win a job.Philadelphia Eagles 23, Minnesota Vikings 16
So, so, sososososo wrong on this one. Donovan McNabb--what was I smoking when I said he'd do poorly against Minnesota? Honestly, that might be the stupidest thing I've ever said/done. I apologize. Brian Westbrook was a little more understandable and yardage wise he wasn't a monster but he scored on both ends. Kevin Curtis is barely a win and Adrian Peterson is a straight push.
Kevin Curtis - Continues to develop as the number one receiver in Philly. Which is like a three in real life fantasy.
Reggie Brown - Don't be completely fooled. It was the Vikings.
Adrian Peterson - Not dogging him. It just wasn't like 200 yards or anything.Jacksonville Jaguars 24, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23
Joey Galloway hates me so very much. It's insane. Just got loose for a long one. Ernest Graham is a win but a decent performance against a tough Jaguars D. Ike Hilliard is a loss. I'm taking a win on the Bucs defense - they allowed hardly anything in terms of yardage and only two scores (the INT return notwithstanding).
Ernest Graham - He's the guy there and that's worth something. A nice game against a tough D.
Jeff Garcia - Ugh. Yes, a long TD bomb but three picks is not what you want from a game manager. San Diego Chargers 35, Houston Texans 10
Seven of 11 for 130 yards and three touches? That's pretty damn efficient for Philip Rivers. Chris Chambers got one and Antonio Gates got two. I get a win for Ahman Green too by successfully predicting that he would not play. Or at least play well. Hope you didn't start him and it cost you a week. Vincent Jackson was nonexistent.
Chris Chambers - Just another red zone target.
Adimchinobe Echemandu - 62 yards on 10 carries is what it is. And it could have value.
Vincent Jackson - Notsomuch.
Matt Schaub - He really needs Andre Johnson back.New Orleans Saints 31, San Francisco 49ers 10
Are the Saints suddenly back? If so, um, what the hell? Drew Brees absolutely went off, racking up 336 yards and four touchdowns against the Niners stout secondary. And somehow Marques Colston gets two of them. Eric Johnson did not. Vernon Davis starting to show some life, although Alex Smith going 22 of 43 is awkward. A win for Frank Gore doing absolutely nothing.
Vernon Davis - About time. Get him if he was dropped.
Drew Brees - See above. It's nearly vomit-inducing, but they could backdoor the NFC South.
Frank Gore - I don't have a joke for "trust". New England Patriots 52, Washington Redskins 7
I mean, damn. Tom Brady had five touchdowns, two rushing. Redonk. I almost feel guilty going four for four here as Randy Moss and Wes Welker both score and are wins and Clinton Portis and Antwaan Randle El both do nothing and are wins as well. The Redskins lack of offensive firepower was probably overrated but their defense ain't no joke. And the Pats absolutely dismantled them. There aren't many changes in value here because I don't think the Skins are that bad offensively. The Pats are just that good.
Laurence Maroney - Wait. So, are you going to ever actually be worth anything though? Kidding. He had 100+ yards.
