B-Ball, B-Fast: Go Larry ... Go Larry

B-Ball, B-Fast is a week-daily take on last night's NBA action from a fantasy perspective. Come early (9:00 a.m.) and often. Or just bookmark it and save time.

If you're not a fan of Maceo Parker, you're not going to get the headline. Or it'll just sound like me doing some ridiculous cheer-shimmy while talking about what a monster night Larry Hughes had on Tuesday. Hughes is maligned for being oft-injured and has seen his scoring dip three straight years. But suddenly, he's back early from the latest dingup and tempting fantasy owners with back to back strong performances. This time? 36 points, four boards, three dimes, three steals and two blocks. Good gravy, indeed. Hughes is probably out on your wire and he's a great source of points and steals. He's also a decent name and a superb sell high at your earliest possible convenience.

Cup of Coffee
Oh yeah. And this other LeBron James feller played last night too. He scored 17 points with three boards and five dimes. Needless to say, you should consider activating him at this point. (What? I can't not mention it.)

Maybe I'm jumping the gun a bit -- or maybe he's just been so bad this season that it seems like a nice outing -- but there appears to be a little life left in Kirk Hinrich just yet. Everyone's favorite 07-08 flop scored 15 points with eight dimes and six boards. Sure it was against the offensively defenseless Sonics, but hey, it's a start. Last chance to buy low.

Ladies and gentlemen, Craig Smith. Decent game for him as he goes for 36 points and eight boards. He shot the ball 22 times, and that's a good thing. Please tell me you added him already. Oh, and by the way, he's a better option than Hughes and Dorell Wright if you're trying to compare hot new possible pick-up starter-types.

Matt Barnes -- remember him of the shockingly large 2006-07 season? -- went off last night against the Spurs with a nice 16/8/4/2/3 line. He was a roto-hog last season when he got playing time; he started at the four in Nellie's Super-Small Ball that puts Al Harrington at the five and ended up with 35 minutes. If Nellie likes this lineup, Barnes will have big time fantasy value. But Nellie is fickle so be cautious about who you're dropping.

Chris Kaman continued his assault on everything this season, scoring 18 with 14 boards and two blocks. I read on another site that Kaman is a sell high because a) this is his max and b) there's no way he keeps it up all season. Well, he's not going to average 20/20. But this is totally legit. Enjoy it. If someone thinks they're dumping him off on you, sucker punch them. Quickly. Kamania '08, son.
