You do the math. Where else was I supposed to rank him this week?
More Rankings: OVER/UNDER | Quarterbacks | Running Backs | Wide Recievers | Tight Ends | DSTs | Kickers
It's Still Not Too Late: Play Fantasy Football at Fleaflicker
Does today even feel like a real day? I say no. It's the start of the NFL season and everything else is just, well, pointless. Anyway, you'll notice in the title and just below that I have Thomas Jones ranked third this week. I expect a tremendous season out of him and a really large game this week. So there's that.
Other notables include: Adrian Peterson out of the top five? Whaaaaa? Yes, I will probably pay on Monday night (please make sure to start him though, even if you got Barber, Jones and AP in that two-team league of yours).
Rusher Rankings - Week 1
No. 1 - LaDainian Tomlinson vs. Panthers
Even though Carolina boasts a formidable front line, the undisputed king of running backs should get off to a rousing start. The Panthers were middle of the road against the run last season, having allowed 110.7 rushing yards per game.
Jed Jacobsohn, Getty Images
No. 2 - Marion Barber vs. Browns
Barber is anxious to bust loose now that he's the feature back in Dallas. His first victim? A Cleveland defense that was one of the worst against the run last season.
Streeter Lecka, Getty Images
No. 3 - Thomas Jones vs. Dolphins
One of last year's most disappointing rushers will begin his bounce-back campaign armed with stronger blockers clearing the way. He matches up with a Dolphins defense that will look quite different without two veteran leaders - Jason Taylor and Zach Thomas.
Paul Spinelli, Getty Images
No. 4 - Brian Westbrook vs. Rams
Westbrook is the model of fantasy consistency, and a showdown with the defensively-challenged Rams will give him a great chance to rack up both rushing and receiving yards.
Nick Laham, Getty Images
No. 5 - Joseph Addai vs. Bears
The Bears allowed 17 total rushing touchdowns last season. Even though their defense will finally be healthy again for Week 1, they'll have a tough time keeping their unit off the field because of offensive ineptitude. Translation? Lots of carries for Mr. Addai.
Andy Lyons, Getty Images
Ryan Grant is way down. I think we've covered this elsewhere.
Edgerrin James, to me, is not a great option this season; he will be a great option this week though. He plays the 49ers and I expect the Cardinals to get a big lead and hand him the rock. Start him but look to trade after this week. And feel free to hit us up with any questions.

That's what I was wondering- Morris is to have the start but Jones ain't exactly out of the hot seat.
I have both and Kevin Smith (DET) in my line up but I need to take one out and put in Desean Jackson (PHI).
I'm not sure which one though.

Take out Julius Jones. We did these rankings before the announcement was made the Morris was officially the starter. Kevin Smith will still get the majority of the carries for the Lions against a pathetic Falcons run defense.

Dorian Gray...of course Brian Westbrook is better than AP. Brian Westbrook is in the class of LT. Lets see what AP does in the next 5 years. You can't put AP in the class of Brian Westbrook and LT. That was his Rookie Year (Impressive) but lets see if he sustains it. As for the others infront of WB....Thats F'Ked up.

These predictions are awful. Clinton Portis at #7 and Brandon Jacobs at #21?? If I am not mistaken, Jacobs had like 116 yards compared to Portis' 84 yards for the NFL's first game.

Um Helloooo, He is talking about this week in Fantasy Football. Thomas Jones will run all over Miami. Not a Jets fan but they don't stink. Forget preseason because it is basically just practice. They have a very good O Line this year and will have a great running game.

Who is Will Brinson? Why does he have a column on fanhouse??
Ok you like your sorry jets. You found a cool pic of Jones and Dj Clue in the internet. You are cool with your yellow hat.
Be professional at least post a pic without a hat on.
Who runs fanhouse? why does this guy get a saying?
Too bad your jets are gonna lose their first 3 games. 0-3 Brett Favreeee.
Can I get a ranking too? I ll do better than listing Brandon Jacobs at 21.
