One of the best things about Fantasy Football is "smack talk." Yup, littering the message board and taunting your friends and enemies at every opportunity. I feel for you if your league doesn't run by such standards, for me it's a must. Anyhow, another aspect of the game that ranks right up there is the "I told you so." And yes, who doesn't like the right to brag and gloat. Look, when it comes to Fantasy Football we all think we're experts, but when we nail a call --- man, that's gratification. Well, you can probably guess where this going...right? Yup, you may have read Matt Snyder's plea on this very site to NOT draft Larry Johnson. Well, we even subtly suggested you deal him after his huge game against Denver.
However, unfortunately -- believe it or not a lot of folks probably just weren't ready to give up on LJ. I do happen to know a few people who weren't hearing any of my logic that LJ peaked against Denver. Even with the brutal schedule following the bye week, not everyone was convinced the better days were long in the rearview mirror. Geez folks, it's just not 2005 or 2006 anymore.
Sadly enough, you already know that LJ didn't even get the chance to run on fumes and stumble against the stout Tennessee Titans defense. And now with the most recent news of his altercation with a woman in a night club that involved spit and death threats, it appears bleak. Gee, you have to wonder what the Commish will decide as far as LJ's future goes. Considering the team already dished out a 1 game ban, you have to consider they've grown tired of the man's antics. The Commish should issue a ruling in the next few days is the buzz around the internet. You have to wonder just how many games it's gonna be?
Hmm. I can't say I have a gut feeling on how long LJ is forced to rest. However, I can say that hardly matters much at all. He's grown accustomed to killing your Fantasy team this season and to be honest he could care less. For a guy who went in the late first or early second round of most drafts, this is shaping out to be a disaster. At first you could hardly depend on him on the field and now, you can't depend that he'll even be on it.
Might be time to grab yourself Kolby Smith or Jamaal Charles and hope for the best. Or you could hold on and hope that he re-discovers the glory days. Good luck with that.
