What if I had told you in Week 7 that I'd rather have all Chiefs in my fantasy starting lineup than all Eagles? I can pretty much guarantee you'd think I lost some sadistic bet, whereby I was forced to sacrifice all my fantasy credibility in publishing an insane piece. Either that or you'd just think I was really freaking stupid. Just six weeks later, and it doesn't sound so crazy. In fact, I don't even think it's close.
First of all, let's check out the schedules.
The Eagles' sked runs like so through Week 16: vs. Cards, at Giants, vs. Browns, at Skins
There are some good matchups in there, I guess. The Cards at home shouldn't pose a huge amount of resistance, and they should shred the Browns. I don't think I like them at all against those division rivals on the road, though. We should also consider the recent trouble they had against the Bengals, so by no means are the Iggles a sure thing against a weak opponent.
Here's the Chiefs' sked through 16: at Raiders, at Broncos, vs. Chargers, vs. Dolphins
Now, the Dolphins have played good defense at times, and the Raiders and Chargers are greatly improved of late. That being said, those defenses rank 25th, 28th, 26th, and 20th, respectively, in the NFL to date. Not only that, but during this stretch where the Chiefs have been compiling some sick offensive stats -- while continuing to lose -- they have put up fantasy points with ease against the Jets and Bucs, who sport solid defensive units.
Let's just check out the skill guys, and you tell me: Who would you rather have?
Quarterback - Donovan McNabb or Tyler Thigpen. Not even close for me, it's Thigpen in a landslide. He's right with the elite quarterbacks for points in the past five games while Donovan is reeling.
Running back - Larry Johnson or Brian Westbrook. I'd actually rather have Westbrook because of his potential to break one at any moment, plus LJ hasn't benefited near as much as other parts of the Chiefs offense. Still, there's some room for discussion here because Westbrook is not near 100 percent and hasn't helped fantasy owners since a Week 8 explosion.
Wide Receiver No. 1 - I guess you could put DeSean Jackson here for the Eagles because of his heavy offensive inclusion now with the wildcat stuff, but Dwayne Bowe still blows him away with volume and consistency.
WR2 - I'd definitely rather have Mark Bradley than Kevin Curtis. I also would like to mention that Reggie Brown is worthless. Just because.
Tight End - Tony Gonzalez is a monster, and L.J. Smith is barely even ownable in even the largest of fantasy leagues.
I score that Chiefs four, Eagles one.
As I said earlier, it's not even close.
Chest-bump to Sean Lalley.

I hope that the Kansas City Chiefs start loosing some games soon because they are in the way with that good win and loss record, and can be dangerous to other teams when the National Football League A.F.C. playoffs begin. I am not cheering for them but I can see that they are definitely going to be at the front of the A.F.C. in the first or second rounds of the playoffs. The only good advice I have for K.C. while driving down the final stretch of their season is towards their fantasy football players, which is not to get hung up on your largest individual match-ups at the expense doing things for the team first. I guess I will be shut outside of the A.F.C. play-offs this year and I will probably be cheering for the 49ers during some big games hopefully. That is the way it goes I guess.
