The playoffs are either upon us or one week away in the majority of fantasy football leagues. With this in mind, Fantasy FanHouse is examining what you can expect from the fantasy relevant players on each team. Tennessee Titans
The opposing defenses: vs. CLE (18th against pass, 26th against run), @ HOU (15th against pass, 23rd against run), PITT (1st against pass, 1st against run)
The skinny: The DST gets to feast on Ken Dorsey in Week 14, which is a great thing. Also, worth the mention is that the next two weeks should bode very well for the two headed attack of
The must-starts: Chris Johnson
The likely start: LenDale White, Rob Bironas
The spot-start: Bo Scaife
The no-starts: Justin Gage, Kerry Collins, Brandon Jones, Justin Mccareins, Alge Crumpler
The D/ST: Hmm, they've been a unbreakable at times this season, but have also shown recent vulnerability. However, judging from the schedule...it's hard to break it off with them now. Just don't expect them to be a machine.
Indianapolis Colts
The opposing defenses: vs. CIN (20th against pass, 24th against run), DET (29th against pass, 32nd against run), at JAC (13th against pass, 20th against run)
The skinny: The question is hardly who do you start, rather it's who don't you start on the Colts. Yes, it's been said in this space before that Peyton and the Colts are going to win many a fantasy title. If you were patient, it's gonna pay off. They draw the easiest close to a fantasy season EVER. Cincinnati and Detroit are AWFUL and Jacksonville has basically waived the retreat flag. Seriously, in the Week 15 the over/under is 5 TD's for Manning. I needn't beat the point home any more...the opposition stinks. You can feel great starting just about every Colt, sans maybe Jim Sorgi.
The must-start: Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Joseph Addai and Dallas Clark
The likely starts: None
The spot-starts: Marvin Harrison, Adam Vinateri, Anthony Gonzalez, Dominic Rhodes
The no-start: None
The D/ST: Yes, absolutely! Check that schedule, it's feast time for this defense. If ever there was time to trust them...it's now. They draw some of the most horrid offenses from three teams that have all basically quit on the season.
Houston Texans
The opposing defenses: @ GB (5th against pass, 27th against run), TENN (4th against pass, 12th against run), at OAK (8th against pass, 29th against run)
The skinny: It ain't exactly an easy road ahead for the Texans. Apologies for letting the air out of the balloon after the HUGE Monday night win. They close with two of three games on the road against a few solid pass defenses that could give Andre Johnson some fits. It's nearly impossible to make Johnson a borderline start, but his counterparts in the passing offense and whomever is playing QB - you may want to give them a seat. Oh yeah, and that lone home game is against the might Titans. Ouch. Still though, Steve Slaton finds himself a glorious match-up during Championship week if you can ride him that far.
The must-start: Steve Slaton, Andre Johnson
The likely start: Owen Daniels, Kris Brown
The spot-start: Matt Schaub, Kevin Walter
The no-start: Jacoby Jones, Sage Rosenfels, David Anderson, Ahman Green, etc.
The D/ST: Sorry, Monday night was special, but we ain't sold.
Jacksonville Jaguars
The opposing defenses: at CHI (29th against pass, 6th against run), vs. GB (5th against pass, 27th against run), vs. IND (6th against pass, 25th against run)
The skinny: This team is dead man walking. Their offensive line is in shambles, their WR's are mediocre, they've all, but given up on their coach. This equals a recipe for fantasy disaster. You have to gut it out with Maurice Jone-Drew for obvious reasons, but as for the rest of this team...I'd give them a wide birth.
The must-start: Maurice Jones-Drew
The likely start: None
The spot-starts: Matt Jones, David Garrard
The no-starts: Reggie Williams, Mercedes Lewis, Fred Taylor, Jerry Porter
The D/ST: If they couldn't stop Sage Rosenrels...ouch.
